About the role
Join Eastern Health as a Senior HMO in Orthopaedics and gain comprehensive experience across inpatient care, outpatient clinics, operating theatres, and consultative services. These 12-month positions provide broad exposure to all aspects of Orthopaedic Surgery and are ideally suited to doctors interested in pursuing Orthopaedic training.
Working within a supportive and closely supervised team, you will have opportunities to supervise junior medical staff, undertake registrar-level responsibilities under guidance, and contribute to teaching, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental activities. Eastern Health also actively supports involvement in research, audits, and publications to support professional and career development.
The position may involve rotations between Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals and includes participation in a roster with evening, weekend, and night shifts. A Victorian Driver's license (or equivalent) is a requirement for this position.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
