3D Digital Sculptor - Urgent

Job Description

The Digital Sculptor’s expertise is generating Class-A CAD surface models using 3D software to translate the design intent, incorporating the technical and engineering criteria and manufacturing feasibility inputs. Their objective is to capture the design intent using relevant #D software through the guidance and direction from the designers. The models they produce must have high quality surface continuity and fidelity, as well as achieve any defined model tolerances setting needed for export to Engineering groups and suppliers. They must also support the Design Team with data prepared for property builds, including section cuts and 3D exports for milling and rapid prototyping. The Digital Sculptor reports to the Design Manager and receives direction from the Design Director.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Proven ability to develop aesthetically refined Class-A surfaces utilizing scan data, design sketches, 3D sketch models and verbal direction.
• Works closely with the Technical Design Team and Creative Team to develop designs meeting design requirements and fabrication constraints.
• Creating and modifying digital models of rockwork, trees, characters and other organic elements.
• Develop and release Class-A surface CAD models to specified tolerance and model quality settings using relevant 3D software.
• Understands all phases of the Theming construction process and has the knowledge and skills to execute multiple projects simultaneously from concept through to surface release.
• Coordinate fabrication constraints with technical designers and other relevant parties to ensure accurate CAD surface models and scale model development.
• Demonstrate ability to rapidly respond to model or fabrication revisions and changes as requested from the Design & Creative team.
• Demonstrate professional and successful communication skills (verbal/written) with strong, effective interpersonal abilities.
• Must be able to identify, prioritize, and coordinate resolution of construction feasibility between the Design and Fabrication team.
• Requires a proactive approach to defining issues and forcing early resolution and consensus, while solving complex surface development with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Digital Modelling related field highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in creating concept and Class-A advanced digital surfaces required.
• Highly proficient digital sculpturing software such as 3d Max, ZBrush, Blender or Maya skills or similar software compatible with Rhino & Revit are required.
• Experience in digital sculpturing of rock surfaces, trees, characters and other organic elements.
• Ability to match real life organic elements such as various trees and rockwork typology.
• Sub-D modeling skills are a plus.
• Strong surface modeling skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments. Highly creative, motivated and team-oriented.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
• Portfolio required demonstrating skills and projects.
• Must be able to develop constructive relationships across departments and across divisions.
• Must demonstrate flexibility to meet changing priorities.
