Job Description - Access & Transport Administration Clerk

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time (Job Share Available)

Hours: 38 hours/week

Salary: HS3 - $74,400 - $82,300

Location: On-Site at Werribee Mercy Hospital & Mercy Hospital for Women

About the opportunity

Join a fast-paced, high impact role at Mercy Health where you’ll coordinate vital patient transport across multiple sites, wards and services - ensuring safe, timely and appropriate care. This is a unique opportunity to play a central part in improving patient flow, supporting clinical teams, and making a meaningful difference behind the scenes of frontline healthcare delivery


  • Coordinate and prioritise patient transport across services, including Ambulance Victoria and Non-Emergency Patient Transport
  • Provide administrative support to the Access & Demand team while overseeing transport activity and workflow
  • Support safe, timely patient movement, improve hospital flow, and ensure efficient use of ambulance resources.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative or clerical role within a healthcare or service environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • High level computer literacy and ability to learn clinical and transport systems

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
