We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global Captive Solutions team at Marsh . This role will be based in the Melbourne office . This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Captive insurance is a risk financing mechanism in which a company insures itself against future losses. In a captive insurance arrangement, the insured brings its risk in-house by creating a licensed company that provides insurance to its parent organization and/or affiliates. www.marshcaptivesolutions.com

Your role is to coordinate underwriting & claims management, maintain financial records & reports and meet compliance and governance requirements while liaising with brokers, banks, auditors, actuaries, regulators, and clients. Experience in insurance operations, risk management, and financial accounting/reporting is beneficial for effective decision-making and planning.

We will count on you to:
  • Maintain all financial records and prepare periodic financial statements.
  • Monitor premium cash flow to maximize investment income through the management of the local and overseas bank accounts.
  • Administer investments in accordance with pre-determined guidelines.
  • Collect premium receivables.
  • Pay general and administrative expenses and claims based on existing guidelines.
  • Plan and complete annual audit, inclusive of the preparation and filing of the Statutory Financial Return.
  • Monitor compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Perform some corporate secretarial services or liaise with local corporate secretarial firms
  • Liaise with the Regulator, prepare and submit necessary filings.
  • Arrange and participate in Board of Directors and Annual General Meetings as required.
  • Maintain permanent file and company information for each company
  • Maintain client documents - either hardcopy or computer stored, under standard filing systems.
  • Address client requests promptly by coordinating responses in conjunction with other team members
  • Develop, maintain and enhance client relationships

What you need to have:
  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent (i.e. ACCA/CPA/CA)
  • Knowledge in insurance preferred
  • Experience dealing with clients, auditors, bankers and tax agents
  • Outstanding analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and possess an understanding of the importance to meet deadlines through effective time management skills.
