The Opportunity

BlueScope Distribution is looking for an Account Manager to join our team based in Launceston, TAS. BlueScope Distribution is a single-source provider of product, processing and service solutions in steel and aluminium product. The business supports customers in a variety of industries and works with them to help deliver projects on time and to specification. BlueScope Distribution supports its customers by helping them find the freedom to do what they do best.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into an established and well-supported territory, managing a portfolio of existing customers across 400 square kilometre radius. Working closely with a highly experienced Launceston team, you'll focus on building trusted relationships, delivering exceptional customer experiences and identifying opportunities to grow and strengthen customer partnerships over the long term.

What Will You Do?

With the backing of our trusted Australian manufacturing brand, you will:

• manage and grow an established portfolio of customer accounts across Northern Tasmania
• build and maintain strong relationships with key customers through regular face-to-face engagement
• identify opportunities to increase value and strengthen customer partnerships
• provide customers with product, service and market insights
• develop and execute purposeful call planning and account management activities
• collaborate with internal teams to deliver outstanding customer outcomes
• maintain accurate customer information and account documentation
• travel throughout Tasmania, spending approximately 3 days per week on the road meeting customers
• contribute to a culture of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement

More About You

You are a relationship-focused Account Manager who enjoys building trust and delivering value for customers. You will bring:

• previous Account Management, Territory Management or Business Development or metals trade experience 
• strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• the ability to negotiate, influence and build credibility with customers
• strong organisational and time-management skills
• confidence working autonomously across a geographically diverse territory
• intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• experience using SAP, Salesforce or similar CRM system (desirable)
• manufacturing, steel, building products, construction or industrial industry experience (desirable)
• a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing, and the safety of others
