Job Description - Account Manager (Bunnings)

GWA are currently seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Account Manager to join our Sales team based in WA on a permanent, full-time basis. As our successful candidate, you will play a vital role in maintaining and expanding our customer base while promoting our exceptional product ranges across the Perth metro area.

Customer engagement is absolutely key to the success of this role. You’ll be the front-line representative to our key customer, Bunnings, ensuring exceptional service and support, whilst maintaining, increasing, and promoting the GWA brand.

In addition, you’ll have responsibility for:

  • Sales performance: achieving budgeted sales and margin targets within your area of responsibility and analysing sales statistics to formulate effective strategies for growing sales and maximising profitability.
  • Expense management: monitoring, reviewing and managing expenses within your job scope, reporting variances and recommending resolutions to ensure that expenditure delivers suitable outcomes.
  • Market intelligence: providing valuable market intelligence on competition, merchant activity, market conditions, and economic indicators – and utilising this information to inform sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Product expertise: coordinating product training tailored to merchants' specific requirements, and providing technical information both internally and externally, with an emphasis on saleable features and benefits.
  • Relationship building: you’ll be skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with both current and potential stakeholders. You will also represent the company at relevant merchant and trade functions (including presenting as required), and be able to collaborate with internal stakeholders, including our different business units – such as Marketing, Supply, and Operations.
  • Reporting: preparing weekly sales reports outlining sales volume, potential sales, proposed customer base expansion, and competitor activity. You’ll attend regular meetings to discuss current activity, sales expansion and market interests.
  • Merchandising: ensuring merchant displays are current and presentable, with obsolete products removed and brand equity maximized. In addition, you’ll maintain Point of Sale information, price lists, technical manuals, and relevant materials.
  • Sales strategies: identifying opportunities for developing and implementing sales strategies to maximize sales and margin growth, with a constant eye on reviewing initiatives – and recommending corrective plans when necessary.

About you

A proactive, customer-focused individual with a passion for sales and relationship management, our successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in sales and account management, preferably within the industry.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent analytical abilities to interpret sales performance and market trends.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS ERP

What’s on offer?

Aside from a supportive, collaborative culture where you’ll be set up for success and know that you’re making a real difference from day one, we’ll also offer you:

  • Competitive remuneration and bonus structures
