H&R Block trains its Tax Consultants through its own highly regarded Income Tax Course. In Australia, more than 3,500 students enrol in the course annually. The Level One course provides training not only to potential H&R Block employees but to employees of some of the top financial and accounting institutions in the country.

As an Accountant you will plan and provide accounting systems and services relating to taxation and the financial dealings of organisations and individuals, and advise on associated record-keeping and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
As an Accountant you will:
- Preparing, reviewing, and lodging taxation returns for individuals, sole traders, and small business entities in compliance with relevant taxation legislation.
- Preparing and submitting Business Activity Statements (BAS), ensuring accuracy of financial data and compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
- Recording, reconciling, and maintaining financial transactions, accounts, and general ledger entries to support accurate financial reporting.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and income and expenditure statements for management review.
- Monitoring accounting records and financial documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining and improving internal control systems to safeguard financial information and ensure operational efficiency.
- Conducting bank reconciliations and verifying the accuracy of financial data and supporting documentation.
- Assisting the District Manager in overseeing day-to-day district operations, including coordinating workflow and ensuring staff adherence to company procedures.
- Coaching, mentoring, and training administrative and accounting staff to maintain operational standards and improve performance.
- Reviewing staff work to ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with organisational procedures and compliance requirements.

Skills Required:
- At least 1-2 years employment experience in this field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation legislation, and financial reporting requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping and reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and recommend financial solutions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, management, and staff.
- Organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Leadership, mentoring, and staff training capabilities to support operational and financial processes.
Role requirements:
- Must have a current Driver’s license, access to a car and be able to visit offices in their District(s)

- Must be flexible with regards work times to support offices as required
- May be required to provide TTS (TAX TRAINING SCHOOL) training as an instructor as agreed upon with the DM
Relationships and reporting structure:
The District Operations Coordinator reports directly to the District Manager(s) in the district(s) they operate within.
