Accounts Officer

Byron Beef Jerky is seeking an organised and experienced Accounts Officer to join our team on a full-time basis, overseeing daily accounting duties as well as providing support to Management and Directors by way of data management and internal reporting. This role is based in Bangalow.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Perform daily reconciliations in Xero, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and updated
• Manage invoicing, accounts receivable & payable processes, including cash flow management
• Process payroll on a regular schedule, ensuring compliance with regulations
• Prepare and review activity statements in Xero, including the reconciliation of accounts and addressing any discrepancies
• Oversee month-end close procedures and financial reconciliations, reporting to directors
• Assist with year-end close procedures in collaboration with external accountants to complete tax returns
• Build and maintain spreadsheets for tracking financial data
• Provide forecasting support and assist in the preparation of projections
• Work with tax agents for FY preparations and as required
• Work onsite at Head Office

Experience & qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an internal accountant or accounts manager
• High proficiency in Xero and Excel
• CPA/CA qualifications are highly advantageous 
• Bookkeeping qualifications ideal
• Strong organisational skills
• Keen attention to accuracy and compliance
• Focused approach to work
• Ability to adapt to meet the changes of a growing business
