An exciting opportunity is available for an Accounts Payable Officer to join the Finance Department at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.

About the position

This role is responsible for accounts payable activities for WEHI. Reporting to the AP/AR Coordinator, the role is part of the Financial Controller team. The Accounts Payable officer is responsible for supplier invoice processing for the Institute, including preparing weekly payment batches accurately and in a timely manner and month end processing to support the Institute's financial results.

Beyond the AP/AR team, the role works collaboratively with the broader Finance department, Logistics and Procurement to achieve its objectives. Key external stakeholders include banks, vendors and suppliers.

Knowledge and skills

• 3+ years’ experience in large volume accounts payable team.

• Experience in Technology One/Workday or comparable finance system.

• Experience with complex Accounts Payable issues.

• Computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel.

Terms of appointment

This position is an ongoing role in a full time capacity. Salary is Professional Services Employee Level 4 ($78,121 - $82,911). Very attractive salary packaging options are available for general living expenses, meal entertainment, novated leasing and more. 12% superannuation payable, plus up to a further 5% after the first 6 months of service via our matching superannuation scheme.
