Accounts Receivable / Credit Controller - Rapid Progression

Our organisation is a large family owned Australian FMCG business with a national footprint working with leading international brands. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable / Credit Control Specialist to join our finance team.

This role will be responsible for managing the company’s receivables, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices, negotiating payment plans where necessary and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices.
• Monitor customer accounts for non-payment, delayed payment, and other irregularities.
• Communicate with clients to resolve payment issues and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of all collections activities and update customer accounts accordingly.
• Prepare regular reports on the status of accounts receivable and provide insights to the finance team.
• Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address any billing discrepancies.
• Assist in the development and implementation of credit control policies and procedures.
• Perform credit checks on new and existing customers to assess risk and establish credit limits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounts receivable and/or credit control roles.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
