Join IAG’s Group Actuarial team as an Actuarial Analyst and help shape insights that influence decision‑making at the highest levels of the organisation. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will contribute to the technical analysis that supports Group‑wide valuation, capital management, strategic assessments and regulatory reporting.

IAG’s Group Actuarial aims to influence better strategic decisions through analysis of experience and trends to create insights into the future. Our team, led by the Appointed Actuary, advises Board, Executive and Senior Business Leaders across Australia and New Zealand in understanding the uncertainty associated with the Group’s material risks and provides pragmatic advice on optimising its enterprise value.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn from Senior Actuaries, develop deep technical expertise, and contribute to meaningful, value-adding advice that directly impacts IAG’s financial strength and strategy.  This is a permanent full-time role based in multiple locations across Australia.

What You'll Do

• Support data preparation, investigation, and validation across large, complex Group datasets.

• Maintain and enhance the Group‑wide claims database, including improving efficiency, data quality, and reporting capability.

• Contribute to the calibration, development, and enhancement of actuarial valuation and capital models.

• Perform analysis that supports Group valuation, claims insights and monitoring of claim experience.

• Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to processes, modelling approaches, and automation.

• Build and maintain effective working relationships within the internal and external analytical and actuarial communities.

• Assist with preparing clear, insightful reports and commentary for senior stakeholders

• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, analytical rigour, and curiosity.

What You'll Bring

• Tertiary Qualifications in a technical discipline e.g. Actuarial, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Finance or Engineering.
• Recent Graduate or 0-3 years of technical experience, ideally with exposure to insurance, financial services or analytical environments.
• Technical skills dealing with data and automation of data systems.
• Strong communication skills and a team player.
