We are seeking an organised and reliable Administration Assistant to support the effective and efficient operation of the School of Public Health within UQ’s Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences. In this varied and hands-on role, you will be the face of the School, providing a welcoming experience while supporting a range of administrative and office operations. You will manage enquiries from staff and students, coordinate day-to-day admin activities, and collaborate closely within a supportive team. This role is based fully onsite to ensure consistent reception coverage and high-quality service delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
Providing high level administrative support to staff and contributing to efficient office operations
Liaises with internal and/or external clients and stakeholders, including answering routine queries and providing advice to current and prospective students on a range of topics related to student and academic administration through over-the-counter enquiries.
Organising and supporting routine events, meetings and day-to-day activities including arranging purchases for general office function and hospitality
Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for the effective and efficient functioning of the office
This is a full-time (100%), continuing position at HEW Level 4.
Experience using standard administrative systems, including the Microsoft Office suite, is required. Familiarity with UQ systems such as UniFi and Archibus is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to provide high quality customer service, including strong interpersonal skills in a front-facing role
Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities independently and respond effectively in a busy environment
