The Riverina and Murray Joint Organisation (RAMJO) works extensively and collaboratively with our 11 member councils and our associate members, along with the wider NSW Joint Organisation network to deliver our Strategic Regional Priorities and advocate on behalf of RAMJO communities.

About the role

RAMJO’s Administration Officer is critical to the effective and efficient functioning of RAMJO’s core business, including its governance, compliance and administrative functions. Working closely with the Executive Officer, RAMJO staff and member councils, the Administration Officer is responsible for coordinating the wider RAMJO teams daily office requirements and providing support to the RAMJO Executive Officer and Board, as required. 

 

Essential and Desirable Criteria  

  1. Demonstrated experience in office management responsibilities including office administration, meeting coordination and use of information technology for business
  2. Well-developed time management and organisational skills demonstrated by situational awareness and ability to prioritise workload
  3. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and exercise professional judgement
  4. Demonstrated experience working within a team environment and ability to utilise initiative whilst working autonomously
  5. Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn with the ability to identify skills improvement opportunities
  6. Class C (standard) Driver’s licence

 

Desirable criteria

  1. Knowledge of and capacity to implement best practice internal controls with relation to Governance, WH&S, Information Management, Risk Management, Meeting Practice and Human Resources 
  2. Local Government experience in NSW or demonstrable knowledge of Local Government operations 
  3. Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation and regulations, including the NSW Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government (General) Regulation 2005
