Job Description - Administration Officer - HR/ Payroll

We are seeking a temporary Administration Officer to support our Payroll and Human Resources teams for a 3 month contract.

This position will provide comprehensive support in the transition to a digital payroll and human resources system.

Located at the heart of Queensland's vibrant Sunshine Coast, the Sunshine Coast Grammar School is a leading independent, Christian coeducational school offering excellence in contemporary education from Prep to Year Twelve.

Our teams within Corporate Services provide essential support to the School's operations and ensuring efficiency, compliance and employee empowerment.

About the position:

This will be a dynamic position, with varying tasks and responsibilities. You will be involved in:

  • Reviewing, manipulating and presenting data
  • Maintaining compliance standards
  • Preparation of staff absentee reconciliation
  • Assisting with preparation of accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll run
  • Assisting with general finance tasks

This is a full-time position available for 3 months.

About you:

Our successful candidate will have:

  • An eye for detail when drafting documents and working with data
  • The ability to build strong relationships and collaborate well in a team.
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills, being able to manage multiple priorities quickly and effortlessly
  • An understanding of the importance of compliance and confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and able to quickly learn HRIS and Payroll software
  • Ability to take initiative and approach tasks in an innovative, facilitative, and flexible way
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Experience working with payroll, employment legislation and compliance (ideal)
  • Hold a current paid Blue Card (or able to quickly obtain one)
