About the role 




As the administrator of Language Services you will ensure that the day to day delivery of administrative functions within the interpreting and translating services meet our service’s needs, utilising the most appropriate method possible. You will be required to understand all aspects of the service and with support from the Access and Resource Manager, meet with key stakeholders, maintain and manage the contractual relationship with the current service provider.




 




Key responsibilities 





  • Manage the day-to-day administrative operations of the Language Service, including interpreter bookings, allocation, stationery, records and general administrative functions.

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, contracted/preferred service providers and Barwon Health teams to ensure effective and timely delivery of language services.

  • Provide professional, equitable and consumer-focused customer service; manage complaints as required; and maintain patient and staff confidentiality in accordance with Barwon Health policies and values.

  • Promote the Language Service across Barwon Health, maintain the One Point page and resources, and train/orientate new interpreter staff in administrative systems and processes, while ensuring bookings are managed efficiently and cost-effectively.




 




What we’re looking for 





  • Demonstrated experience in a challenging consumer-focused environment 

  • Previous employment in an administrative/clerical role within Barwon Health

  • Computer literacy with iPM and Microsoft applications and the ability to learn specialist programs used within the Central Resource Unit

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience with invoice processing
