UOW College Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Wollongong. Since 1988, we have been offering students alternative entry to UOW through university preparation courses. Our product offerings include Academic programs (Higher Education Diplomas and University Access Programs), English Programs, and Vocational programs.

Admissions Officer

About the Role

The Admissions Officer is responsible for supporting the admission of students across UOW College Australia courses and University of Wollongong pathway options. The role responds to enquiries, encourages suitable students to apply, and assesses and processes applications through to enrolment readiness within competitive timeframes.

Reporting to the Admissions Coordinator and working closely with admissions teams, faculty representatives, program managers, compliance officers, recruitment teams and education agents, this onsite role is central to delivering accurate, timely and student-focused admissions support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to enquiries from prospective students, applicants and agents, providing accurate information about UOW College Australia courses.

  • Assess and process applications from submission through to enrolment readiness within required turnaround timeframes.

  • Assess applications against course entry requirements and conduct Genuine Temporary Entrant assessments where required.

  • Generate admission outcomes and Confirmations of Enrolment, and communicate clearly with applicants and agents throughout the process.

  • Liaise with faculty representatives and internal stakeholders to support applicants requiring further assessment or pre-enrolment support.

  • Maintain accurate admissions data and use systems effectively to support reporting, workload management and continuous improvement.

Selection Criteria

  • The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 12 months’ experience in student admissions, either international or domestic, or another application assessment role.

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or relevant work experience.

  • Knowledge of the Australian education system, including vocational and/or higher education.

  • Advanced computer skills, with experience using systems, preferably student systems.

  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills, with the ability to work professionally with students, agents and internal stakeholders.

  • Flexibility, adaptability and a genuine willingness to learn.

  • Customer service experience, student recruitment experience, CRM experience and/or experience using PRISMS to generate Confirmations of Enrolment will be highly regarded.

  • Certified proof of right to work in Australia.

  • This position is based on-site at our Wollongong campus.
