This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of sports technology as part of a passionate and dynamic team. The role involves the setup and operation of our on-site services for the AFL and AFLW in Adelaide.
This is a casual opportunity and will be predominantly weekend based work with hours allocated around match fixtures. You may be rostered to work weekdays from time to time as well.
As an AFL On-Site Operator, you will be working predominantly at AFLW and AFL venues during each season. The role will encompass on-site operations across the AFL and AFLW seasons.
Within AFLW you will be responsible for the setup and operation of our on-site medical replay service. You will work closely with the AFL doctors, responding to their requests for replays and quickly delivering them the best possible camera angles to aid in their medical assessment of injuries.
During the AFL season, you will be responsible for the setup and maintenance of our on-site services and act as a technical guarantee for the AFL Review Centre (ARC). Working alongside the ARC you will be the key point of contact for AFL clubs and AFL match day staff.
Whilst we provide a number of services in the AFL, you will initially join as a part of our on-site AFLW and AFL service with potential further casual opportunities available for the right candidate. You will gain exposure to various other services as you grow in the role and become a more experienced member of the team.
We will equip you with the technical training, assistance and full exposure to our systems to perform your day to day tasks but also encourage development and progression to help make an impact on what we do.
Setting up Hawk-Eye technology on-site
Conducting pre-match checks of the systems in accordance with standard procedures
Liaising with officials, stadium/club personnel, match officials and host broadcasters on-site
Liaising with Hawk-Eye Innovations staff
Monitoring and operating Hawk-Eye software during an AFLW or AFL match
Monitoring hardware and software performances, being able to troubleshoot and report encountered issues
Work with our remote team to proactively address technical issues
Taking full responsibility for our system on-site and being an ambassador for Hawk-Eye
Completing post-match reports, issues reporting post-game to improve future operations
Assist with installation and maintenance of on-site equipment where required
A technical understanding or background
Innovative thinking, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proactive, responsible attitude and ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision
Time management skills and ability to work in a high pressure, procedural, live broadcast environment
Ability to liaise with clients and customers in a professional and approachable manner with attention to good communication.
Proactive motivation and desire to learn new skills whilst building upon what you already have to offer.
Able to adapt to flexible working conditions with irregular working days including weekends and longer days
Elements of on-site work can be physically demanding for short periods of time. E.g moving a 15-20 kg piece of equipment
