  • Leading the Women in Umpiring Accelerator Program and coordinating the contribution of Discipline Leads and Accelerator Mentors.

  • Building effective relationships with State Umpiring Managers, coaches and Game Development teams to identify emerging female umpiring talent.

  • Supporting the development of female pathway umpires throughout the State League season in preparation for AFLW opportunities.

  • Delivering coaching support, feedback and development activities that enhance umpire capability and readiness.

  • Contributing to AFL umpiring talent development programs as required.

  • Supporting umpiring development initiatives and coaching opportunities across events such as National Championships and State League competitions.

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Laws of Australian Football.

  • Understanding of the AFL industry and the role umpiring plays in progressing the game.

  • Strong teaching, coaching and facilitation capability.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.

  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting talent identification and development programs.

  • Sound judgement and the ability to provide constructive feedback in a development environment.

  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach to working with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • A growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Experience working with female umpires and/or athletes (desirable).

  • Previous involvement in field umpiring at AFL or AFLW level (desirable).

  • Experience coaching field umpires within AFL or talent pathway environments (desirable).
