We're seeking a highly motivated Agency Team Lead to join our dynamic digital marketing and fundraising agency, leading the charge in our newly launched squad model. This pivotal role restructures our teams to be highly collaborative and client-focused, ensuring exceptional results for our clients.

As an Agency Team Lead, you'll report directly to our CEO and play a crucial role in shaping the success of this new agency model. You'll lead a diverse squad of specialists, including Digital Performance Managers, Creatives, Project Managers, and Client Success Managers. Your focus will be on empowering your team to work seamlessly together, leverage their unique strengths, and deliver exceptional results. In addition to fostering a thriving team environment, you'll also serve as a key liaison between your squad, other Squad Leads and the Executive team, ensuring clear communication and alignment with overall agency goals, and you will be adept at navigating complex client needs and delivering solutions that meet strategic objectives. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and an understanding of the specific challenges and opportunities faced by not-for-profit organisations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to build a strong foundation for long-term career growth within the company, with the potential to transition into a formal Business Director role as the company and your leadership skills evolve.

About you

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing and/or fundraising in a digital/creative agency or B2B service organisation.

  • 5+ years in a leadership role with a proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of specialists.

  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.

  • Experience in navigating and leading complex client relationships in an agency/B2B service setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with non-profit organisations (NFPs) and understanding their unique needs and challenges.

  • A solid understanding of digital marketing principles (e.g., SEO, PPC, email marketing) and fundraising strategies (e.g., donor acquisition, campaign management).

  • Experience in growing revenue through strong strategic focus and execution.

  • A demonstrated track record of delivering exceptional results for clients and exceeding expectations.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Experience working within a squad-based agency structure or a strong understanding of this model.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Squad Leadership:

  • Build a high-performing team focused on collaboration, communication, and continuous learning.

  • Delegate tasks effectively, maximising productivity and achieving optimal workloads.

  • Develop your team through regular performance reviews and coaching opportunities, collaborating with craft leads to identify areas for individual and team growth.

  • Work across the agency with leadership to streamline processes, share knowledge, and keep everyone informed.

  • Cultivate a strong squad culture and contribute to the agency's vibrant and inclusive environment through ongoing initiatives that celebrate diversity, encourage collaboration, and keep everyone connected and engaged.

Project and Resource Management:

  • Track squad workload and forecast resource needs for efficient service and timely delivery.

  • Manage client projects, focusing on timelines, budgets, and resource allocation within your squad.

  • Anticipate and solve problems to ensure timely and on-budget project completion.

Key Client Lead & Escalation Management:

  • Ensure all client partnerships have clear goals and measurable success metrics.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned key clients, fostering strong relationships built on trust and transparency.

  • Own escalation for squad clients, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.
