AI Operations Engineer - Sydney- Global Prop Trading Firm

Compensation: 150-300k AUD

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in the APAC head office of a tech-focused market-maker with groundbreaking success in the high frequency trading space. The AI Operations team ensures the efficient and reliable operation of the services underpinning their global AI stack, and they're now seeking a motivated Engineer to support the AI program as it grows.

In this impactful role, you'll architect, implement and monitor the deployment of agents on the AI platform to ensure they are safe and effective. Responsibilities will include:

• deploying & maintaining containerised components of the AI platform (both 3 rd -party and in-house)
• architecting, building and maintaining systems to drive efficiency and meet evolving business needs
• researching & implementing new technologies, or building enhanced in-house solutions, to improve performance & system stability

Requirements

• Experience in Linux engineering, container orchestration debugging, administration, and OS system provisioning. Experience with Linux security hardening techniques a plus
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, TCP/UDP/multicast, and packet analysis
• Hands-on experience with system/network tools, e.g. EBPF, tcpdump, strace, ntp/ptp, lsof, nc.
• Understanding of SSO / SCIM for 3 rd -party tool integration
• Strong experience with monitoring and alerting tools like ElasticSearch, Victoria Metrics, Grafana, and Alert Manager
• Proficiency in Python for automating operational tasks and system administration.

Nice to have:

• AI observability platforms knowledge (MLFlow, Arize, LangSmith) or other AI background
• Experience with sandboxing tools (bubblewrap, e2b, daytona).
