The Opportunity

Contract - 1 year fixed term contract, with potential for extension

We’re looking for an AI Solution Architect to design and guide AI-driven solutions that deliver practical business value. This role bridges business needs and technical delivery, shaping how AI is applied across client environments and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and aligned to enterprise standards.

You will work closely with stakeholders, business analysts and engineering teams to translate complex AI capabilities into clear solution designs. You will also provide direction on platform choices, architecture patterns and emerging technologies, while supporting teams throughout delivery.

What you’ll do
Solution Design & Architecture

• Design AI-enabled solutions that address business, technical and operational requirements


• Develop high-level solution specifications aligned to enterprise architecture standards and design patterns


• Identify and assess multiple solution approaches, including trade-offs across performance, scalability, security and cost

Prototyping & Evaluation

• Rapidly prototype and test AI tools, platforms and patterns to assess suitability


• Benchmark technologies and provide evidence-based recommendations for production use


• Maintain awareness of emerging AI capabilities, including model advancements and agent-based architectures

Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory

• Translate complex AI concepts into clear, practical guidance for both technical and non-technical stakeholders


• Partner with business and delivery teams to ensure requirements are understood and solutions are feasible


• Act as a trusted point of contact for solution clarification and escalation during delivery

Governance & Risk Management

• Demonstrated application of responsible AI principles (fairness, explainability and privacy by design) in production environments


• Identify solution risks and provide pragmatic mitigation strategies


• Support design reviews and ensure alignment with agreed architecture and governance frameworks

Planning & Costing

• Develop high-level cost estimates across AI solutions, including model usage, infrastructure and operational costs


• Assess the impact of design changes and evolving requirements on solutions and delivery plans


• Contribute to AI technology roadmaps across platforms, tools and capabilities

What you’ll bring

• Experience designing AI/ML solutions within cloud environments (AWS preferred, with awareness of Azure equivalents)


• Hands-on experience with modern AI platforms and services, including large language models and related tooling


• Practical experience with techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt design and orchestration patterns


• Ability to prototype and evaluate tools effectively and translate findings into clear architectural decisions


• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, design patterns and governance practices


• Familiarity with responsible AI principles and their application in real-world systems
  


• Clear communication skills, with the ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders
