Why this role matters
The Alexis Family Violence Response Model (A‑FVRM) is a jointly designed initiative between The Salvation Army and Victoria Police, providing an integrated, risk‑informed, whole‑of‑family response to high‑risk family violence incidents. This role is critical in ensuring timely, coordinated and trauma‑informed interventions that reduce risk and strengthen safety for victim survivors.
About the role
As a Senior Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Person using Violence), this is your opportunity to provide intensive, innovative and holistic short-term interventions to persons using violence with a strong focus on risk and behaviour change.
Embedded within the Victoria Police Ballarat Family Violence Investigation Unit (FVIU), you will contribute to a unified, real‑time, multi‑disciplinary response that prioritises safety, stabilises crisis, and mitigates systemic risk.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a fixed term full-time position, contracted for 12 months, based in Ballarat, VIC.
Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) Level 6.
