About this role
This Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant position operates within a 1:1 therapeutic observation model, rather than a traditional caseload model, delivering safe, evidence-based, person-centred support to inpatients requiring 1:1 observation. Support is provided under the supervision and delegation of an allied health professional.
The position contributes to the Allied Health-Led Therapeutic Support for Patients Requiring 1:1 Observation quality improvement project, including development of the policy and procedure documents needed to embed the model into practice. The successful applicant will work closely with the delegating allied health professional and the Access and Resource Unit to implement delegation procedures that support consistent, structured, goal-directed intervention across shifts, and will document patient engagement and behaviour to inform ongoing therapy progression.
The role suits an experienced AHA with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, both in their own practice and in supporting the learning of others involved in a patient's care.
