Join our AML team in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane in a hybrid role where you'll help protect the firm through practical, high-quality financial crime compliance support.

What will your typical day look like?

Working across proposed and existing engagements, you'll assess whether designated services are involved and what AML/CTF controls need to apply. That includes identifying client due diligence requirements, documenting customer identification and verification needs, and supporting consistent application of the firm's framework.

A big part of the role is assessing risk in a way that's practical and evidence-based. You'll conduct customer and engagement AML risk assessments, perform enhanced due diligence on higher-risk matters, and help the business understand what information is needed around ownership, control, source of funds or wealth, and other risk indicators.

No two matters will look exactly the same. You'll work closely with the AML Senior Manager, AML Compliance Officer, and stakeholders across the firm to respond to queries, keep records accurate, support reporting and quality assurance, and contribute to ongoing improvements in AML processes, guidance and controls.

About the team

The AML team sits within the Conduct & Compliance Function in Quality Risk and Regulatory. It's a specialist team that helps Deloitte manage regulatory and conduct risk through clear advice, strong controls, and practical support to the business. Alongside AML, the broader function covers areas like financial services regulation, modern slavery, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, export controls and complaints handling, giving you exposure to a wide range of compliance matters that help protect the firm and support high-quality client service.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

• Experience in AML/CTF, financial crime, regulatory compliance, risk management or a related area


• Knowledge of client or customer due diligence, including identification and verification, beneficial ownership analysis, screening and enhanced due diligence


• Ability to assess money laundering and terrorism financing risk and document clear, evidence-based conclusions


• Confidence interpreting legislation, regulatory guidance, policies or procedures and applying them in an operational environment


• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a disciplined approach to record keeping


• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical requirements in practical terms


• A collaborative, service-oriented approach and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively


• For Senior Analyst candidates, experience handling more complex reviews or supporting less experienced team members is highly regarded
