APS6 Senior Communications Officer - Employee Communications - Immediate Start

The Department:
You’ll be joining a large, diverse Department. Specifically you will be joining an extra-large strategic communications branch who touch on a range of initiatives in the National security sector.
  
  
The Role:
Are you passionate about promoting positive culture? You will work in a small team dedicated to enhancing the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) for the Department. You will work on promoting a better understanding among a diverse, widespread workforce and their families, as well as future employees.
  
The EVP explains the Departments commitment to the workforce. As well as the benefits, opportunities and conditions of working within the Department. The levers within the EVP apply differently depending on an individual’s conditions of service, employment or role, as well as their life stage. Therefore communicating the benefits requires a dynamic approach.
  
This is an initial 18 month non-ongoing opportunity or temporary transfer, with the possibility of an ongoing opportunity.
  
  
Role Responsibilities:

• Developing and delivering strategies and campaigns to promote the EVP to both the internal and external audience. Including creating engaging and targeted video content for web, social media and other communication channels.
• Working with web design and HR experts to design a user friendly, interactive platform capturing all aspects of the EVP.
• Leading other relevant recruitment and retention oriented communication initiatives.
• Establishing an evaluation process for measuring the impact of communication activities.
• Providing regular progress updates to senior leadership.

  
  
  
Your Skills and Experience:
To be considered for this position you must have relatable experience, examples include:

• Internal communications
• Campaign management
• EVP or enterprise agreement communication experience
• Defence industry experience – desirable, not essential
