APS6 Senior Communications Officer - Room for Advancement

The Agency:
You’ll be joining a small regulator within the Agriculture portfolio, boasting great culture and flexible working arrangements.
  
  
The Role:
You’ll be joining a small communications team and will be responsible for the promote of the Departments service and program offering, through brand management and marketing, media, corporate events, publications and the website.
  
The purpose of your communications will be to build and reinforce for the Departments reputation as a world-class regulator. You will develop and deliver strategic communication campaigns and create impactful communication products to promote and connect stakeholders to the appropriate area.
  
This is a 6 month labour-hire position with the view to be extended further. The team is located in Canberra, however this position may be offered anywhere in Australia (remote working) for the right opportunity.
  
  
Role Responsibilities:

• Manage the development and implementation of strategic communication campaigns
• Be responsible for the coordination, drafting, editing, proofreading and publishing of high-quality communication products, including but not limited to marketing materials, news items, blog posts, written correspondence, and developing branded merchandise
• Assist with the review and development of corporate publications, including the Gazette and Annual Report
• Support the delivery of strategic communication products, by managing a forward-focused calendar of key dates and events
• Publish content to the flagship website, staff intranet and digital marketing channels, including EDMs and social media posts

  
  
Your Skills and Experience:
Experience in a senior communications position is essential for this position. Government experience is highly desirable, but not essential. Experience working across both internal and external communications is desirable, with the ability to work across several competing priorities.
  
Experience managing communications in the agricultural or “ag-related” sectors is highly desirable.
