About the Financial Management Branch: The Financial Management Branch manages relationships with external departments, agencies, and organizations, providing strategic financial services across the department. Our Financial Operations Directorate ensures a high-quality financial environment through robust governance, accurate guidance, and efficient financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, treasury management, and corporate card management.

Our Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a motivated individual with:

  • Proven experience in Travel and Corporate Card management.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and experience with financial programs and systems (e.g., TechOne, SAP, Microsoft Excel).
  • The ability to thrive in high-pressure, dynamic environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to implement changes effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a small team dedicated to Travel and Corporate Card management.
  • Provide high-level customer service and timely responses to internal stakeholder inquiries.
  • Offer strategic and technical advice on Travel and Corporate Card matters.
  • Conduct research and apply legislative requirements, including Commonwealth financial compliance and legislative frameworks.
  • Manage team workloads and ensure the accuracy of advice and work.
  • Contribute to process improvements and workplace innovation.
  • Utilize financial analysis tools and systems to capture, research, analyze, and reconcile data.
  • Oversee end-of-month processes, including reconciliations, journals, and executive and management reporting.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Exceptional customer service, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • High-level written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in Travel and Corporate Card management.
  • Team leadership and management capabilities.
