TLC AQUATIC PRECINCT

The Lakes College Aquatic Precinct is an innovative and transformative facility that made its debut in September 2022. Much more than a mere institution, this precinct stands as a beacon of excellence, serving not only our TLC community but also reaching far beyond its borders to embrace a wider community.

The Lakes College Aquatic Precinct is home to TLC Swim Club and TLC Learn to Swim.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Relationships, culture, and heart matter every day at The Lakes College. As such we are looking to engage a passionate and relational Aquatics Manager to lead the development and delivery of the learn-to-swim program. 

The Aquatics Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the Learn to Swim School and the administrative operations of the Aquatic Precinct. They will lead and develop staff capabilities and competencies to deliver high-quality services and continuously develop and improve the learn-to-swim program activities.

This position reports to the Director of Aquatics for all swim program service delivery and facilities activities, while they are overall responsible to the Chief Operations Officer for all business operations.

Candidates for this role must address the following selection criteria:

  1. Experience developing and delivering a large and diverse Learn to Swim program including its content.
  2. Previous experience in the effective operational management of leisure services.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with senior management to set clear and measurable strategic goals for the Learn to Swim Program and overall operations of the Aquatic Precinct. 
  4. Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service and collaborative engagement and decision-making with internal and external stakeholders within the Aquatic Precinct.
  5. Demonstrated ability to manage resources efficiently and effectively in line with agreed budgets and to identify sustainable revenue streams.
  6. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a positive swimming culture and parent engagement to create a link with families to TLC Swim Club.
  7. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and develop a high-performing team that values positive and respectful professional relationships and upholds integrity and confidentiality in all aspects of internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  8. A commitment to the vision, mission, and values of the College as a Ministry of the Uniting Church.
  9. Current certificates and/or a willingness to attain those noted in the position description.
