Job Description - Area Lead Program Delivery Lower Yarra

About the Role:

The Works Delivery group at Melbourne Water manages the planning and safe execution of maintenance and minor capital field work spanning Water Supply, Sewerage, Drainage, Waterways, and Catchments. Reporting to the Senior Manager Minor Capital, this role oversees a geographical area in the North East of greater Melbourne. Its primary responsibilities include planning, executing, and ensuring the safe delivery of a program encompassing civil construction and Natural Resource Management (NRM) works, with a focus on achieving timely and cost-effective outcomes.

Collaborating closely with other Area Leads, the position involves spearheading the development and implementation of advanced minor capital techniques and processes to drive business performance. It also entails ensuring robust quality assurance across the program to maintain high standards of delivery.

About you:

You have extensive Leadership and management skills, including experience in managing and leading project managers.

You are a passionate and proactive safety leader with a personal commitment to injury prevention and improving Health and Safety procedures, policies and plans.

Extensive skills and experience in the delivery of field-based minor capital projects including a varied understanding of alternative project delivery models.

Ability to build highly effective strategic relationships with external stakeholders, traditional owner groups, service providers and the community to support the delivery of Melbourne Water strategies and complex programs of work.

An understanding of project and program governance (engagement and approval processes), probity and confidentiality requirements.

This is a full time role, that will be required based at Melbourne Waters North East Regional Office (NERO), Croydon. The role will require you to travel to field sites within Greater Melbourne in the North and East. This role will have an allocated operational work vehicle.
