Job Description - Area Manager Gaming & Hospitality Eastern Victoria

About Us

Mercury Group Victoria commenced operation in 2010. We are now one of Victoria’s leading member based, hospitality/gaming service providers. We provide services and assistance to our members, ensuring they are profitable and have the opportunity to support their local communities. Our members are licenced Clubs/Hotels that operate both hospitality and gaming facilities. The Mercury Group provides assistance of gaming data & recommendations, venue promotions, loyalty, compliance and much more. We also have management contracts in place with some of our members.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced hospitality manager with gaming experience to join our team on a full-time basis in the Eastern region of Victoria. Reporting to the General Manager of Operations/Gaming the responsibilities will include maintaining a monthly call cycle and visiting our member venues across the eastern side of the state, fulfilling the obligations of the agreements between Mercury Group and our members. 

The Area Manager will build on our relationship with Mercury members across the Eastern region of Victoria while liaising with the General Manager Operations/Gaming, will monitor established budgets, and assist our members to maintain their financial viability.  

About You

The successful candidate will have a proven track record managing hospitality venues with electronic gaming, food & beverage. You will possess a “can-do” attitude, be reliable, professional and a strong communicator, be willing to mentor and empower staff. You will be self-motivated with strong time management skills, demonstrate the ability to identify and assess the financial viability of each venue and assist venue managers and Board members with the planning and budgets for their venues as necessary.

  • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with relevant legislation
  • Understand, use and ensure all operating systems are utilised to maximum potential

 Must Have's

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a Hospitality/Operations Manager role, preferably club/pub based
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills
  • Victorian Industry Gaming Licence
  • Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Responsible Service of Gaming Accreditation
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Accreditation
  • Experience and knowledge of current and relevant gaming legislation
  • Ability and willingness to travel across Victoria
