Our client is a prominent national provider of tyres, specialising in distribution and wholesale across diverse industries. They are dedicated to delivering exceptional services and products to their clients. Currently experiencing a period of expansion, they are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager with a strong aptitude for sales and customer engagement to join their dynamic team.

THE ROLE:
A newly created role working across the Tasmania Region with a strong focus on Launceston as well as Hobart, the main responsibility of this position is to lead the team to drive new business and grow the presence of the clients business.

Reporting directly into the Regional Sales Manager you will join a great team that prides itself on delivering outstanding customer service to its large distributor clientele base. You will be a quick learner and demonstrate strong leadership qualities with the ability to drive change and collaborate with the sales team members nationally. Duties will include but not limited to:
 
  • Lead, motivate and manage the activities of the field Business Development team to ensure that area sales and GP targets are exceeded
  • Ensure pricing disciplines are applied and all client relationships are prioritised
  • Proactively pursue new business in a structured, focused & considered manner
  • Developing and nurturing existing customers through systematic cycle visits and interactions
  • Ensure appropriate and effective levels of customer contact and quality of calls are maintained within the team 
  • Coach and mentor team in developing and delivering strategies and activities aimed at growth through existing and new clients
  • Demonstrating a keen ambition to drive the business forward and lead a direct a business development team to success 
ABOUT YOU:
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented individual, capable of handling a variety of tasks with efficiency and enthusiasm. You will also have:
  • Proven track record in a sales management, state management or area manager position 
  • People leadership of sales professionals is essential
  • Proven experience managing gross profit margins 
  • Accountable go-getter with a passion for providing quality service
  • Ability to effectively analyse, interpret and develop action plans from reports and data
  • Passion and desire to achieve results and a positive attitude and hands on approach
  • Strong client relationship management skills with a consultative approach
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
