Lawson Elliott Recruitment is excited be working with a well-established business leading the way in their industry. The team is looking to expand and welcome in a confident Assistant Accountant to hit the ground running and join their Brisbane team due to exciting projects, growth and an increase in workload. 

This is an excellent opportunity is you are looking to gain exposure in a new industry whilst being mentored by a very supportive and knowledgeable CFO who you will be working closely with. 

Reporting to the CFO, you will have broad range of responsibilities including:

• End to end Assistant Accountant duties 
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparing and posting journal entries
• Daily sales reconciliation
• Assist with month end reporting & reconciliation
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting the larger accounts team
• Managing the accounts inbox & respond to queries
• Ad-hoc duties as required

To be considered for this role:

• 2+ years proven work experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role
• Experience working in a high-volume environment 
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with accounting software Xero 
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure
• Strong interpersonal, analytical & numeracy skills
• Demonstrate initiative and take responsibility
