Job Description - Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant – Temp Contract (1–2 Months)

Location: Southern Suburbs of Perth (SOR)
Hourly Rate: $40–$45 per hour + Super
On-Site Parking Available

Our client, a reputable organization in Perth's southern suburbs, is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant for a 1–2 month temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills and work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements.
Process payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Support the month-end close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Collaborate with internal departments to gather and verify financial data.
Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Provide support for audits and financial reporting requirements.
Undertake ad-hoc accounting projects and administrative tasks as needed.

About You:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Currently working towards CA/CPA qualification.
Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar role.
Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial work.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
