Your new role
As the Assistant Accountant, you will play a key part in maintaining financial management and supporting statutory, transactional and management accounting functions. This role provides exposure to multiple systems, financial processes and business units.Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining financial management and management accounting processes, including completing end-of-month tasks for assigned business units.
• Analysing and interrogating data to assist in preparing Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cashflow reports.
• Assisting in the delivery of statutory reporting and compliance obligations.
• Maintaining strong record-keeping and documentation standards.
• Completing data checks across key systems including Pronto, Redmap, Translogix, Asset Registers, Payroll Journals and others.
• Producing performance and financial reports from various systems.
• Providing support to finance, accounts, payroll and other operational functions.
• Assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation activities, including bank, purchase card and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Undertaking additional finance or administrative duties as required.

You will also uphold the organisation's WHS, environmental, and corporate responsibilities, including:

• Working safely and reporting hazards.
• Participating in WHS programs, audits and emergency procedures.
• Adhering to company policies, ISO 9001 quality standards and the Code of Conduct.
• Acting with integrity, honesty and respect in all interactions.

What you'll need to succeed
Requirements:

• Degree-level qualification in Accounting (or equivalent).
• Desire to pursue CPA or CA upon completing your degree.
• Basic understanding of accounting standards and principles.
• Strong attention to detail.
• High level of numerical accuracy.
• Aptitude for financial or data analysis.
• A proactive and self-driven approach to learning and development.
