You will work within a collaborative finance team that supports the accurate financial management and reporting needs of the wider group, ensuring smooth operations and compliance across all entities. Your new role As the Assistant Accountant, you will play a key part in maintaining financial management and supporting statutory, transactional and management accounting functions. This role provides exposure to multiple systems, financial processes and business units.Your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining financial management and management accounting processes, including completing end-of-month tasks for assigned business units.
Analysing and interrogating data to assist in preparing Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cashflow reports.
Assisting in the delivery of statutory reporting and compliance obligations.
Maintaining strong record-keeping and documentation standards.
Completing data checks across key systems including Pronto, Redmap, Translogix, Asset Registers, Payroll Journals and others.
Producing performance and financial reports from various systems.
Providing support to finance, accounts, payroll and other operational functions.
Assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation activities, including bank, purchase card and balance sheet reconciliations.
Undertaking additional finance or administrative duties as required.
You will also uphold the organisation's WHS, environmental, and corporate responsibilities, including:
Working safely and reporting hazards.
Participating in WHS programs, audits and emergency procedures.
Adhering to company policies, ISO 9001 quality standards and the Code of Conduct.
Acting with integrity, honesty and respect in all interactions.
What you'll need to succeed Requirements:
Degree-level qualification in Accounting (or equivalent).
Desire to pursue CPA or CA upon completing your degree.
Basic understanding of accounting standards and principles.
Strong attention to detail.
High level of numerical accuracy.
Aptitude for financial or data analysis.
A proactive and self-driven approach to learning and development.
