Role Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a close-knit finance team in a varied and hands-on role. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the day-to-day financial operations while gaining exposure across multiple areas of the finance function.
This position is well-suited to someone looking to build on their existing experience within a purpose-led organisation, with the opportunity to step up and take on additional responsibilities over time.
About the Role
Oversee Accounts Receivable processes, including billing, collections and debtor management
Manage supplier invoicing and provide support across Accounts Payable functions
Monitor the AR inbox and resolve billing queries with both internal and external stakeholders
Prepare and deliver regular debtor reporting, including liaison with external collection agencies
Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash records
Manage intercompany transactions across the organisation
Support month-end close, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations
Coordinate BAS and Payroll Tax submissions and assist with payroll processing
Contribute to budgeting, audits and statutory reporting requirements
Provide broader team support including covering the Finance Manager and assisting with ad hoc tasks
Skills & Experience
Working towards or completed CA/CPA (or equivalent)
Experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Accounts Officer role
Strong exposure to Accounts Receivable and general accounting tasks
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
