Job Description - Assistant Accountant

Overview:

Join our Finance & Administration team as an Assistant Accountant at Scope Systems! We're seeking a passionate individual with a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to support our finance operations. This role offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to various aspects of financial management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter accounts payable (AP) invoices into Pronto system and ensure accurate coding to GL accounts.
  • Reconcile statements from major suppliers.
  • Code and reconcile credit card and petty cash expenses.
  • Generate purchase orders for license acquisitions.
  • Prepare customer invoices and reconcile revenue and costs against maintenance schedules.
  • Collect WHT certificates from overseas clients.
  • Handle customer queries related to sales invoices.
  • Implement debt collection procedures.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Prepare sales quotations for clients and manage client profiles on databases.
  • Provide backup support for other administrative staff during their absence.
  • Assist the Senior Finance Officer with month-end tasks and annual audit processes.

 

About You:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Commerce/Business degree in Accounting or its equivalent with plans to pursue a CA/CPA qualification.
  • Prior experience with Pronto software is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and initiative.
