Role requirements - Looking to pursue/recently started CA or CPA
- Understanding of month end procedures
- Some similar experience in another professional organisation, or looking to move into commerce from an accounting firm
The role - Assist in the preparation of monthly accounts including processing of journals, collation of monthly sales reports and account reconciliations.
- Assist with the reconciliation of all bank accounts, including facility, dividend, and deposit accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of credit card reconciliations and journals.
- Assist with the monthly cash flow report including analysis of expenditure.
- Maintaining the bank guarantee register and arranging new bank guarantees as required.
- Assist with the entry of new assets into the fixed asset register as required.
- Processing monthly payroll and supporting payroll activities including journals, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and employee entitlements.
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly BAS returns and electronic lodgment once authorised.
- Prepare finance facility draw down requests, including compiling the relevant paperwork and obtaining the necessary approvals, on occasion as required.
- Assist with the preparation of income tax return work papers.
- Assist with preparation of half year and year end statutory accounts and supporting work papers.
- Maintain the company’s accounting records including electronic and hard copy filing.
- Assist in data collection, updating spreadsheets for a variety of different tasks throughout the year as instructed.
