Job Description - Assistant Category & Marketing Manager

Our client is an Australian organisation specialising in the manufacturing of Sewing & Craft products. They have a rich 98 year history working across multiple categories distributing to large scale retails in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. They are a fun creative team and enjoy working as part of a collaborative culture.

Job Description

Reporting into the National Sales and Marketing Manager this is a diverse role working across many aspects of the business, including Product, Sales and Marketing.

  • Manage project execution including product innovation, planogram reviews, liaising with suppliers on POS material, open order inventory planning, etc.
  • Support with the customer's category range review process and internal plans; including pricing, product, and promotional recommendations within category reviews.
  • Account management of semi-corporate accounts, with aim of keeping the relationships warm.
  • Responsible to monitor data-rich insights including customer sales data analysis to contribute to category plans & sales growth.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Sales team.
  • Create bespoke presentations to use in account presentations, and new account acquirement.
  • Assist with product and pricing submissions for major retailers and independent customers, and work with product development team to source products.

The Successful Applicant

  • Demonstrated experience working in a Marketing, Category, Product or Sales role.
  • Qualification in Marketing, Business or equivalent.
  • B2B experience is highly desirable.
  • A can-do attitude with commercial acumen, eagerness to learn and work within a fast paced, competitive industry.
  • Strong organisational skills, including strategic and analytical mindset.
  • Ability to work independently including problem solve and build internal and external relationships.

This role is on-site 5 days a week in Heidelberg West, so it is ideal to be based in or around the Northern Suburbs.
