Assistant Fund Accountant Role

Our team at Unity Fund Services is expanding and we are searching for an Assistant Fund Accountant to join the team who wants to redefine fund administration. 

We are building our team with proactive, analytical thinkers who approach problem solving with a positive attitude.  We are searching for Assistant Fund Accountants who have the ability to build strong rapport with their peers and also are able to be trusted advisers to our clients. 

The role will see you assume responsibility for a number of funds including:

• Equity funds
• Hedge funds
• Credit funds
• Private equity funds
• Fund of funds

Additional to fundamental Assistant Fund Accountant tasks day to day responsibilities include:

• NAV calculation and unit pricing;
• Preparation of management & statutory accounts;
• Distribution calculations;
• Management and performance fee calculations;
• Preparation of BAS returns;
• Liaison with brokers, fund managers and custodians;
• System and process documentation;
• Assistance with managing audit process with external auditors and service providers; and
• Interaction with clients.

Further requirements to apply 

• Accounting major graduates or 1-2 years of general accounting experience;
• Relevant qualifications in accounting and/or finance (CPA/CA qualified or willingness to study CPA/CA preferred); 
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills; 
• High attention to detail; 
• Strong discipline in record keeping; 
• Understand the importance of confidentiality; 
• Excellent written and communication skills; 
• Strong problem solving skills; 
• Analytical thinkers;
• Ability to deliver accurate and timely work in accordance with deadlines; 
• A team player and also able to work independently; and 
• Hold appropriate Australian work visas.
