About the role: Join our CFO Advisory Services team in Sydney and step into a role where no two days look the same. From finance function modernisation and process optimisation to accounting advisory and audit-readiness support, you'll work across diverse industries and complex, meaningful projects that expand your capabilities and career trajectory.
As an Assistant Manager, you will be involved in effectively planning and delivering projects to clients as part of a team and have the opportunity to be involved in business development to support growth of the CFO Advisory Services team. You will work directly with partners and senior managers, gain great exposure to clients and expand both your accounting and technology skillsets as they apply to finance functions.
In this role you will: - Deliver finance function modernisation, accounting advisory and reporting projects in conjunction with other engagement team members ensuring delivery in line with client expectations, timelines and budget
- Work with clients at senior levels in different business environments
- Develop finance and technology skills through coaching and client experiences contributing to the growth of the wider groups' technical and client interaction capabilities
- Develop project management capabilities, report writing, technology and client relationship skills in delivering projects
- Assist with co-ordination of the CFO Advisory Services team including but not limited resourcing and training
- Assist in business development and marketing activities including input into proposals and developing new offerings
About you: You're a curious and motivated finance professional who enjoys solving problems and helping clients navigate change. With a background in accounting or finance, a CA qualification, and experience across reporting, advisory, or transformation projects, you're confident working with stakeholders and collaborating with diverse teams. You're eager to keep developing your technical and technology skills and excited about contributing to meaningful, future-focused work in CFO Advisory.
Demonstrated Experience & Attributes: Essential
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in accounting, commerce or finance
- CA qualification or equivalent professional qualification (or progression towards)
- 4-6 years experience accounting or finance experience in professional services, commerce or mix of both
- Finance transformation, reporting tools automation, financial reporting, management accounting, data extraction, project management, accounting advisory and/or audit experience
- Strong communication - clear and concise communication with clients and internal stakeholders
- Collaborative, working effectively within teams, developing self and others to expand skillset
- Good knowledge of accounting standards, controls and relevant regulatory requirements
- Self motivated, ethical and dependable
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio and reporting tools
Desirable
- Business development exposure
- Power BI, Alteryx, AI, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle and other ERP experience
