The Cavenagh is one of the Northern Territory’s most iconic hospitality venues, renowned for its exceptional food, vibrant atmosphere, and commitment to delivering an outstanding guest experience. We are looking for an outstanding Assistant Manager to join our leadership team and help us continue to set the standard for premium hospitality in Darwin.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Venue Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the venue. You’ll take responsibility for leading and motivating the team, maintaining our high service standards, and creating an environment where both staff and guests feel welcome and valued. Your ability to engage with guests, resolve challenges quickly, and inspire your team will make you a key part of our success.

We’re looking for someone with proven hospitality leadership experience, ideally in a high-volume or premium venue. You’ll be confident managing day-to-day operations, knowledgeable about compliance and licensing requirements, and comfortable in a hands-on role where no two days are the same. Most importantly, you’ll bring a genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences.



A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

  • Motivate and inspire the team to deliver a genuine and ‘local’ guest experience
  • Champion team coaching and mentoring, Guest and Team initiatives and day to day pub operations
  • Proactively activate local events and support the Venue Manager to develop & drive marketing initiatives
  • Build a responsible service culture that is centred around fun, passion and authenticity, encouraging your team and guests to come as they are!

Qualifications

About you:

  • You have great hospitality leadership and operational experience with positivity and enthusiasm to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • You have contagious passion when it comes to the guest experience and to inspire, coach and develop your team
  • You hold current industry RSA and RSG qualifications as per state requirements
  • NT Gaming License
  • You’ll be yourself and to come as you are - ALH is known for its people!
