Assistant Materials Officer

Our client URGENTLY requires Assistant Materials Officer for 6 months + Contracts in Toowoomba and Warwick.

The Assistant Materials Officer is to undertake basic materials classification and compliance tests and assist materials testing practitioners with other tests including specialist tests. You will assist with sampling, equipment checking and calibration, investigations and instrumentation and perform all sampling and testing in strict accordance with the Materials Services Management Operations System. You will be reporting to Materials Technologist.

Skills and Experience required includes:

• Assist with field work, travel with senior staff on pavement investigations and site sampling exercises to various locations within the region.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Southern Queensland Region, including overnight dependant on location of project.
• Proficiency on significant amounts of calculations utilising both manual and software-based tools.
• Ability to perform tasks in both indoor and outdoor environments at any time of the calendar year.

Government experience would be highly advantageous.
