The Dry Dock, a historic pub first established in 1857, has been a long-standing fixture on the Balmain peninsula, an area famed for its pub culture. The venue is undergoing a transformative renovation and is set to re-open with a standout food, beverage, and service offering.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Operations Manager. If you have a passion for service, team leadership, and creating unforgettable experiences, all while fostering a fun and collaborative environment, this is your moment to shine. Your Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management: Lead and motivate the team to deliver exceptional service and ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations, ensuring that all floors and sections are running smoothly.
  • Guest Relations: Handle guest inquiries and issues with poise and professionalism, ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Quality Control: Uphold high standards of hygiene, health, and safety at all times.
  • Organizational Efficiency: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient front and back of house.
  • Wage and Budget Control: Monitor and control wage costs and adhere to budget constraints, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Stock Control and Procurement: Oversee stock levels and manage procurement processes to ensure adequate supplies
  • Point of sale administration: Manage and oversee the Bepoz point-of-sale system, ensuring accurate and efficient operation.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training new staff and continually develop existing team members.
  • Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with licensing bodies, company policies and local regulations.

 

About You

  • Team Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
  • Positive Attitude: A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Multitasking Ability: Excellent multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hospitality Passion: A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Qualifications: RSA certification is required.

The Dry Dock is conveniently located directly opposite Mort Bay Park and Thames St, Balmain Ferry Wharf - only 11 minutes from Circular Quay.

There is ample ‘all day’ free car parking located in the streets around the venue.
