The Allfarm Animal Health factory and operations are licensed under the Australian AgVet legislations to manufacture under the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

The Position – Assistant Production Manager

We are looking for a self-motivated hard-working individual to join our team in Hastings, Victoria.

The position of Assistant Production Manager is available for an immediate start. This is a hands-on role involving all aspects of the manufacturing, warehousing, and despatch of products from our factory.

This is a long-term permanent position, either 4 days per week or a 9-day fortnight, with occasional additional hours during high manufacturing demand.

Reporting to the Production Manager the Assistant Production Manager will be required to undertake the following key responsibilities:

• Manufacture of Allfarm Animal Health and Contract Manufactured products – keys tasks to support the activity include:
  • Support the Production Manager with daily production tasks.
  • Prepare equipment for manufacture.
  • Prepare ingredients, manufacture product, pack and label products according to documented procedures.
  • Prepare finished product testing and retention samples.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished products to maintain high standards of quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Clean manufacturing equipment and work space in line with GMP guidelines and compliance.
• Other task associated with the GMP process include:
  • Receiving inwards goods.
  • Prepare raw ingredient testing and retention samples.
  • Manage ingredient, labelling and packaging stock levels.
  • Forklift / warehousing operations.
• Develop and maintain a maintenance program for all manufacturing equipment.
• Assist with the implementation of new equipment and processes as required.
• Prepare daily orders for despatch by Australia Post, Couriers or major transport companies
• Ensure OH&S compliance.
• Administrative duties related to the manufacture, stock management (MYOB) and despatch of products (Australia Post and other transport portals).
• Communicate with Sales, Stock Control, Quality System team members, Customers and Transport Couriers.
• Provide leave support for the Production Manager

Skills and Experience

• Enthusiastic with a can-do attitude, feel comfortable working unsupervised, can follow written work procedures.
• Experienced working in a manufacturing / warehousing environment, preferably in a GMP facility.
• Have a sound knowledge of GMP practices (Code of Good Manufacturing Practice).
• Have a current forklift license.
• Machine maintenance knowledge and experience will be highly regarded.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail and personal presentation.
• Strong safety mindset.
• Effective team player. Reliable and strong integrity.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks as some heavy lifting will be required.
