Job Description - Assistant Store Manager - Career Growth Potential

We are on the lookout for an adaptable Assistant Store Manager to join our dedicated team at BSR Group in Underwood, Brisbane QLD.

The BSR Group is Australia's largest independent electrical and furniture franchise retail group with over 200 members across the country. With key brands Betta Home Living, Designer Appliances, Furniture Zone and RT Edwards Commercial leading the charge, we are experiencing amazing growth both in-store and online.

You will be responsible for the functions of all departments of the store and for brand-building exercises relating to the store.

The role involves both developing and implementing sales strategies, which achieve the objectives set out by the Company. In addition to monitoring staff performance. 

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting the Store Manager with the following:
  • Achieving personal sales targets.
  • Achieving sales and financial targets.
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels 
  • Develop business strategies 
  • Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to sales staff
  • Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction 
  • Complete store & warehouse administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, asset control (cash/stock)
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Propose innovative ideas to increase market share.
  • Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities. 
  • Attend product, sales, and merchandise training.
  • Stocktake Manage, facilitate, and minimise risk/loss
  • Corporate Store: Compliance, Best Practices, mentoring, training of internal and external
  • Relationship management: 
  • Weekly reporting completion to Head Office
  • Experience required:
  • Proven successful experience as a retail Assistant Manager
  • Sales management skills
  • Strong organisational & time management skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preferably previous experience in the electrical appliance or Furniture retail
