In the bustling heart of Canberra's Parliamentary Triangle, Louis offers classic European bistro warmth and comfort, paired with an extensive wine selection. Headed by Doma Culinary Director Ben Willis, we are looking for an Assistant Venue Manager to join our team.
Our ideal candidate has experience working within a Food & Beverage assistant managerial role with a focus on exceptional service, customer experience and communication skills. It is important that the candidate has experience with assisting in managing a team and can upskill both the staff and the service experience.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES
STAFF
- Ensure a high standard of customer service is given at all times. Our goal is to offer professional and friendly service that result in guest satisfaction and an environment that encourages growth of the business.
- Monitor staff performance and communicate any areas of performance that need to be addressed, as well as praising good performance.
- Ensure any customer complaints are dealt with immediately and communicated to the restaurant manager.
- Prepare the staff roster accurately & punctually to ensure that staffing levels are constantly monitored and appropriate to the level of business.
DAILY PROCEDURES
- Follow correct order of service and ensure that sections are allocated and maintained at all times.
- Ensure all daily cleaning and maintenance duties are carried out to the correct standard every shift by using the cleaning ticker checklist.
- Promptly report and/or rectify any menu, POS or wine list discrepancies
- Monitor and maintain par levels of clean menus and wine lists.
- Reconcile cash register and credit cards at the completion of shift.
- Ensure that premises and walkways are kept clean and free of obstruction.
- Promptly report any maintenance or repair items to maintenance team and the restaurant manager.
- Know fire evacuation procedures and aware of potential fire dangers.
KITCHEN
- Maintain constant communication with kitchen regarding menu information, changes & daily specials and communicate this to all waiters. Particular attention to correct spelling and pricing of dishes.
- Monitor freshness of food products, milk, citrus and garnish prep for bar. Seek advice from kitchen about whether products need to be reordered or discarded.
