Job Description - Assistant Venue Manager | Terminus Hotel

Terminus Hotel is one of Yarrawonga's most popular venues, offering a vibrant bistro, sports bar, gaming room and welcoming atmosphere. We're looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Venue Manager to join our leadership team and help drive exceptional guest experiences and operational success.

As part of Australian Venue Co., you'll work alongside an experienced Venue Manager while developing your leadership skills with one of Australia's largest hospitality groups.

About the Role

As Assistant Venue Manager, you'll support the Venue Manager across all aspects of venue operations, helping to lead the team, drive financial performance, and deliver outstanding service every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Venue Manager in the day-to-day operation of the venue
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing hospitality team
  • Deliver exceptional customer service across bar, bistro and gaming operations
  • Assist with recruitment, rostering, training and performance management
  • Monitor labour costs, wage targets and venue profitability
  • Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, gaming and workplace safety requirements
  • Oversee stock control, ordering and inventory management
  • Manage shifts and confidently lead the venue in the Venue Manager's absence
  • Support functions, promotions and venue growth initiatives

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Venue Manager, Duty Manager or hospitality leader within a busy pub or licensed venue
  • Strong leadership and people development skills
  • Experience across food & beverage, gaming operations
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of labour, stock and venue performance
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A hands-on leadership style and genuine passion for hospitality
  • Current RSA and RSG certificates
