About This Opportunity 

The Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences is one of Australia’s most comprehensive health faculties, integrating clinical disciplines, population and behavioural sciences, biomedical research and non‑health domains that shape contemporary society. Within this dynamic environment, the Associate Dean, Strategic Engagement provides senior clinical academic leadership to strengthen and advance the Faculty’s strategic engagement with the health sector and key partners. 

The role ensures Faculty strategies are grounded in contemporary clinical realities and health service priorities, fostering purposeful engagement with health services, government, research institutes, industry partners and community organisations. Through this work, the Associate Dean, Strategic Engagement helps deliver sustained impact across teaching, research, workforce development, innovation and societal wellbeing, while enhancing the Faculty’s reputation and influence nationally and internationally. 

This is a full‑time or part‑time (0.5–1.0 FTE), fixed‑term position for up to three (3) years at Academic Level D or Level E.

About You 

You are a respected academic leader with a doctoral qualification or equivalent standing in a health‑related discipline and academic achievement consistent with appointment at Level D or E. You bring extensive experience in health system engagement and partnership development, underpinned by contemporary clinical and health system credibility. 

You have a demonstrated record of leadership in service, teaching, research or health innovation, with the strategic capability to operate effectively in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments. Your ability to engage senior stakeholders, build and sustain high‑impact partnerships, and provide clear, authoritative advice is matched by exceptional communication, representation and influence across academic, health and professional domains.
