As a “Mum & Dad” advice business we take pride in providing trustworthy and reliable financial advice and service to everyday Australians. We take a holistic approach to advice with all our clients, considering their personal and financial positions, estate planning factors, cash flow, and longevity risks, while providing advice in superannuation, retirement planning, investments, personal insurance, and Centrelink. 

We are expanding and currently have a Principal Adviser, Office Manager, and Paraplanner, and are looking to attract an ambitious junior Financial Planner to help us grow our business and client base.

 

The Role

This is an entry level Financial Planning position that will fully equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure a successful career in financial planning. You will receive mentoring from an experienced and professional Financial Planner with the opportunity to develop into a full Financial Planning role, as well as support in upskilling and training to develop you as a planner. 

This role will also assist us in ensuring the business maintains strong client relationships, as well as to bring in new clients and grow the business.

You will primarily be responsible for working closely with the Financial Planner and clients, assisting with all aspects of the financial planning process. Your duties will also often overlap with paraplanning and administration.

Primary duties will include:

  • Contacting and working with new and existing clients
  • Attendance in client appointments, including pre- and post-meeting support for the planner
  • Providing detailed and accurate research, using tools such as XPlan WealthSolver, Risk Researcher, and XTools+, as well as working with platform and product providers
  • Detailed File Notes to record an accurate picture of client meetings and engagements 
  • Strategy Development based off a good understanding of the clients, their goals and objectives, and thorough research and modelling
  • Assisting with Applications, both paper-based and using online tools, across various platform and product providers, through to confirmation stage, to ensure business efficiency and ideal client outcomes and experience
  • Advice document development and editing

 

About You

  • Genuine passion for financial planning, and working with and helping everyday people 
  • Ethical, having integrity and a desire to do the right thing
  • Process-driven with an attention to detail 
  • Willingness to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enable you to build rapport with clients and staff
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a small, close team
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to pick up new systems and processes. Experience in XPlan and strong MS Word editing skills are essential.

We will consider a wide range of experiences, including recent graduates. Financial services industry experience will be considered favourably, as will approved qualification requirements to be a financial planner and completion of your Professional Year and financial adviser exam.
