Qualifications, requirements and experience

  • 5 + years of company audit experience
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Business / Commerce degree with Accounting Major
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Must have own car as some travel to clients in regional Victoria is a requirement

Position objectives

You will report to the Director and will ensure you:

  • Build strong client relationships;
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner with clients and Ryecrofts team members;
  • Manage audit deadlines;
  • Complete audit planning procedures including risk identification and subsequent procedures to address risks;
  • Identify and address technical accounting and audit issues;
  • Assist with management and co-ordination of the audit team including training, mentoring and methodology compliance;
  • Conduct audit procedures in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards;
  • Review financial statements to ensure compliance with Accounting Standards;
  • Prepare concluding documentation and reporting for audit engagements;
  • Summarise key issues and findings for the Audit Director;
  • Complete audit engagements to a high-quality standard, within budget and on or before deadlines;
  • Conduct audit engagements simultaneously; and
  • Contribute to meetings and make effective presentations to staff and clients.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills including the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines
  • Detailed working knowledge and application of the Corporations Act 2001, Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards and other applicable legislation
  • Attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Must be able to use basic formulas and utilise features of Excel for clear presentation of workpapers
  • Working knowledge of MyWorkpapers or similar audit software an advantage  
  • Working knowledge of PDF editor an advantage
  • Strong relationship skills
  • Professional presentation and conduct
